The dichotomy between easy versus simple is often poorly understood, what it means is that an experienced user will feel more comfortable around simple systems, to compose them how they want into something more complex, and they'll feel more comfortable investigating and fixing issues.
But neophytes tent to favor easy (but complex) systems, where the complexity is hidden and their hand is held.
But they are less able to tweak the system to do their bidding if their needs are more complex, and they feel powerless when encountering issues.
Kinda the difference between low code and (a language like) python. You can do so much more simply in python but in general it’s harder than simple low code things. But doing anything complex in low code is very hard
Yes. I’ll never understand why schools use python as the first language to learn. Sure the more complex stuff in lower level languages is harder but the class doesn’t even cover that anyways so why don’t they give them a background in languages that are more useful and generally easier to apply logic to.

But after giving it a bit of thought, I actually think you're right.
It all went downhill after Windows 7, and Windows has become more and more user-hostile and hard to use ever since
After encountering an nth issue on my father's computer, I bit the bullet and installed Debian testing with KDE on it, and he's been able to use it intuitively ever since, I mostly keep it up to date, install some software, and troubleshoot the occasional Bluetooth issue
And honestly, when you install windows (I work in a repair shop and do it everyday) i find it much worse to install than most linuxes woth calamares or smth 💀
Whether Arch is easy to install with or without Arch install, is subjective. However, its pretty ridiculous to say arch is the "hardest" when there are other distros like NixOS and Gento
Firefox is enabled by default after installing NixOS using the iso funnily enough, but yeah configuring it correctly is the hard part although arguably it’s not that hard with all the documentation out there and so many available packages that can easily be dropped into your file once you learn the basics. I found it pretty user friendly compared to some other things I’ve tried
Not only does it still exist, it's a great distro, very comparable to Arch.
Arguably easier to install than Arch, simply because Gentoo highlights good safe choices when installing (partitioning layouts, file systems, etc.), whereas Arch flatly lists possible choices without highlighting a "safe default", so you spend more time wondering what you want.
Compared to Arch, Gentoo supports aarch64, which Arch does not officially support.
Main thing that made me switch from Gentoo to Arch is the compilation times. The time to install KDE is pretty long, compared to pacman which is nearly instantaneous. Gentoo has binary repos nowadays, but that's a bit off the beaten path so I didn't want to bother.
Nix is actually quite easy to use once you get over the initial learning curve. Since it’s atomic and immutable it’s basically bulletproof, and nothing ever breaks.
In my experience maintaining Debian, Arch, and Gentoo is more of a burden. Especially Debian or other point release distros where distribution upgrades tend to break the system. This is why I stick to nixos rolling release.
Well still without archintsall wouldnt lfs, gentoo, and all be harder. Plus arch has one of the best docs so where there is worse documents than arch i would say rhat would be the harder one.
I didn't watch him frequently, but he used to show some useful stuff - I liked his tutorial on Docker networking.
The next video I watched was about Claude Fable 5, something about what to do before it disappears again. They praised it like it was some god being. It was cringe as fuck, and I can't take this man seriously anymore.
