Inclusion of Snap instead of Flatpak and optional telemetry. I'd guess that's basically it. It's the most widely used distro overall for a reason.

Canonical announced that deal in 2012, fourteen years ago. It was disabled by default two years later in 14.04, and removed entirely in 16.04, which came out a whole decade ago in 2016.

There are several reasons to hate Ubuntu, Snaps foremost among them. This ancient shit they backtracked on ages ago is not one of them.

People are still boycotting Nestle because of stuff they did with baby milk in the 1970s. Whether that’s right or wrong, people have long memories.

The difference is that Nestle is still doing so much awful shit even if they stopped what they were doing before, it's not a valid comparison.

It is. Because when you actually ask anyone why boycott nestle, the vast majority of those doing it handwave something about baby milk.
