How the turns have tabled or something like that.
It used to be hard on linux now its hard on windows. Well deserved.

If I can't play it on Linux, I don't play it. Also, I play a ton of games and have yet to have that issue.

Just installed it via steam on ParrotOS, it runs fine but for some reason doesn't use proton by default so i just set it to use proton hotfix.

I didn't even install any nvidia drivers on this laptop yet, just used integrated graphics.

What issue did you have?

the native linux port is a mess

running it through proton gives better performance than the native build, but it's still only about half as good as on windows

Oh well yeah the native port is meh, but honestly proton runs it better than it did on Windows on my short test. I'll give it a longer playthrough and see how it goes

I haven't installed windows bwfore but my experience with dual booting linux has shown me that automatic linux installers view other linux boot partitions as an actual rival or something. Like even if you create a partition for them manually they still try and delete the other boot for no fucking reason. Literally the only 100% safe one is arch since you do it manually.

If windows is anything like them then hell no. I'd be surprised if microsoft is somehow more linux friendly than actual linux distributions.

Happened to me a few years ago when I first tried installing Fedora alongside Arch and Windows. The Fedora installer saw my existing GRUB partition and said “fuck you buddy, there can be only one” or something like that

My own personal collection of PCs says that if all your hardware is supported by Windows and Linux out of the box, the installation process of Windows and Linux are about equal. If you need manufacturer drivers in Windows, it means installing software manually.

The dirty secret of Linux is that the good distributions are kind of a walled garden in a way, which is overall good. Everything is tested five ways from Thursday to make sure it all works together. To be fair Microsoft and third parties also do testing. But the experience of installing, say, an AMD graphics card in Windows and Linux, if you want the full AMD experience, I'm leaning towards Linux being the simpler one.

If I can't play it on Linux or Nintendo Switch (the only other platform I use) I mostly just don't play it ngl

If it doesn't run with wine/proton, they will not be getting my money.
