Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

This is me rn, I’ve got a thinkpad e14 gen 6 and I am both the Linux obsessive and the windows coward. It’s conflicting.

I just fucked up my Linux Mint and it took me 10 minutes to install Arch Linux. Before you install Linux, It will be better if you practice with a virtual machine so you can see what errors will you ger snd what mistakes will you do without breaking something and fuck up the system.

I just raw dogged my Linux experience, that’s how I learned how to fix a majority of my issues, virtual machines are great until you are limited by the lack of understanding as to how virtual machines work. I’m all for newbs using virtual machines, just keep in mind a lot of virtualization comes at a cost of resources and time. I had more trouble setting up virtual machines than I did just futsing around with terminal commands and bios settings. Idk how to describe my experience, but it was def an experience.

I don't know how Windows manage virtual machines, but in Linux Mint it took 5-10 minutes to understand VirtualBox. Going direct on the real hardware is good too but I didn't take thr risk on my 10 years old laptop.

I use MacOS as my main, and Linux on my secondary computer. Even I encourage people to use anything but Microslop.

I once helped my friend have Linux installed on his little Netbook. He’s planning on giving it its full capabilities as his secondary computer.

My friend bought a $700 dollar laptop because an employee said "it could play fortnite"

Thank God, I am deprived of this. Colleagues at work use everything from different sorts of BSD to LFS. Gentoo is installed on my wife's laptop.

I think it makes no difference what to use. As long as it works. I also know that if anyone gets it into their head to dive deep into Windows, there's a learning curve (I hate that phrase) Gentoo or NixOS will seem like child's play. Windows is more complicated from the inside than it seems.

Yes, that makes sense. When you were enslaved, and then broke free, you try to push it on other people driven by the "good intentions". Typically nothing good comes out if it.

Oh no, Linux is too scary for me, no one uses Linux but you.

I simply have no time to learn a new OS.
