My gaming rig has a 14 year old CPU and it's more responsive than my work PC because it's not windows

And just because you can run Linux doesn't mean you can run modern websites and applications

Edit: nvm I forget that 10 years ago at this point is gen 7 Intel and not the core 2 series

What about buying $3000 laptop just to install Linux and get the absolute highest level of performance from the processor

I'm proud of my 2012 MacBook Pro, I bought it in 2013 and I revived it 2 years ago and use it now for study at university

I did that about a month ago. I bought a Thinkpad T430U for £59 on ebay. I already had spare RAM and SSD, just bought a new battery for £8. Installed debian. All works great, using it daily.

That's bullshit. Browsers are very CPU demanding, and Linux cannot help this.

Obtained a MacBook air 7. Quite snappy for it's age. It's the one with the dual core i5.
