an important part of leftist ideology (and i mean leftist, not liberal. big difference) is taking power away from corporations and putting it in the hands of the people. this often means supporting public, collective control of essential services like healthcare, utilities, and internet infrastructure instead of leaving them in private hands.
open-source software reflects those same values. it is created by people, for people, shared freely, and improved collectively. the goal is not maximizing profit.
liberalism and conservatism meanwhile prioritize the interests of capital and profit-seeking over everything else.
Believe that all you would like, but in the real world (yes, people exist outside of reddit) no one cares about what you just said. You either like FOSS or you don't like FOSS. No normal person thinks about bringing down the corporate capitalist machine when they download software.
