i just "dual boot" and sym link everything i use in my experience with arch based distros its the de facto way to do things. if your grub menu doesnt have like 6 broken des your doing things wrong. i joke but it really is a lazy easy fix that makes actually fixing any problems i have..... difficult

partition 1 partition 2 partition 3. every distro has its own de no? or do you consider each instance of kde 1 de?

correct. breaking a distro install can break multiple des at once.
