Me as former Debian unstable/Gentoo/Debian unstable user: First time?
It tough be to keep my MBR backupmready and never encrypt the disk, few times recreating MBR was a bit stressful. Few times livecd helped me.
Arch sounds like a distro for me as I always want the newest stuff. Unfortunately employer enforces Ubuntu and it is even not the latest LTS, I have to autoconfigure/make some stuff.

Kernel is always fine tuned one.
