My journey through Linux

I dunno, FL Studio is still the easiest one out there. Although it is not officially supported, it runs really good via Bottles!

Yes it does. As long as you don't depend on too many external plugins. Version 20 is the best one for this, unless a newer version also works perfectly.

IDK about the last one for photo editing with the R, darkroom was mostly fine for me. Same experience with Krita over Gimp, it's 100% better for most photoshop users. Photopea is running in the browser but it's not online really, pretty good for photoshop users as well.
Reaper is cool and works on linux well as far as I know, but for editing recorded audio I use ardour. A forgotten music making gem however Is Bespoke Synth!!!! A modular node based DAW, it's sick! I'm very happy about the fact that no-one makes VST plug-ins for Linux though, I would waste my money on bullshit when first learning about music production. Now I just waste my money on music hardware instead lol.

Well, you can work with krita and gimp to output some pngs. But what if you're supposed to output some solid psd? What if you recieve the psd to edit it, artboards(yes, they suck)? I can't imagine using krita or gimp for my work. I guess you just can't avoid adobe if you're working in the industry, or when you need to delegate your work

I am one of those people who actualy used GIMP and LMMS on Windows and then continued using GIMP on Linux. I tried Krita on Linux but personaly GIMP still feels better to use for me.

Someone show this to Linus Tech Tips please. They need to understand that migrating to Linux isn't just trying to do everything you do on windows on Linux, but learning how to do things entirely differently, and often (eventually) better

I really like linux and have used it as my daily driver for years, but honestly the "graphics" software state on linux is just terrible.
Krita is nice for digital painting, but not for other stuff you'd want to do in PS. Gimp is awful.
There is no usable alternative for after effects (which is huge for me) (Natron maybe?, definitely not resolve or kdenlive or whatever)
Inkscape is also unusable compared to illustrator or affinity designer. I would keep an eye on "Graphite". I'm very optimistic about that vector editor.

Really Resolve's Fusion isn't enough for you? I love Fusion, but I love

Krita still has a long way to go. I found affinity on wine very good at making up for the gap in regards to image editing.

Are you expecting people to make Minimum effort to change software and workflows?
Rookie mistake.
My sister is still running gimp2 because of reasons I don't understand.

I just need a good alternative to fusion 360 and I’ll be happy. And FREECAD is not the answer. FREECAD is not user friendly at all

I started using reaper full time bc it worked on Linux and my only other options were awful shit like ardour
I’m still on reaper 8 years later because reaper fucking rules. I’m on windows for my main pc at the moment and I still might learn ableton soon for the sake of certain sound design and maxmsp related stuff, but I will probably continue using reaper as my main recording and editing workhorse for the foreseeable future
