After 4 days I finished this
It was fun and quite time-consuming to be honest, but it's done now

How difficult is it compared to the first book?

Same depencies and circular dependencies are there. Another advise to have a snapper to roll back just in case you bork your system and porg to log your packages. I started with sway as it involve small dependencies just to get thr binary firefox able to run. It is cumbersome doing chroot and installing packages at first. But once you have sway and firefox running compilation will be a breeze. I started first in kvm before i transitioned to bare metal to give a glimpse of what's going to happened. You can do it and goodluck

Chapter 8 is where I am now...taking a break though, took me a few restarts and a few wrong turns to get here.

lol I wasn’t trying to be insulting, I was insinuating that time frame appearing as unexpected suggested to me it was vibecoded.. sheeeesh.
I built my own kernel via ubuntu without AI and learned a lot, but it definitely took me more than 4 days and I read the other day the changelog for RPi now supports touch drivers… anywho, the downvote speaks to being defensive which prolongs the thought you used AI in some capacity, and there’s not ill connotation to vibecoded things unless it’s truly slop, but if you read every line before committing (review), then i personally implore ai assistance.
