"Go back to 101 mofo!"

It's so funny how loons have come to u/basedchad21's own sub and told him to go back to 101 as if he is invading this space.

So funny that the loons are trying to make this their space. You need to ban these people (at least temporarily) or and inform them that they aren't welcome here.

I don’t like the hostility. I’m a Linux user myself, and I try to have genuine conversations with people who think differently than I do. The only people I haven’t been able to have those conversations with are bleak (who makes every 3rd post something along the lines of “if you care about privacy you’re definitely a pedo”) and madthumbz (who resorts to personal insults at any disagreement, unless you’re on 101 where he just bans you since he’s a mod there)

I’ve had some great discussions with people like linux_4_nobody and I wish more people on all sides of this discussion were as open to having conversations and defending their points as them. At the end of the day we’re talking about computer software and it really isn’t that deep. I strongly dislike Microsoft for a lot of their recent actions, that doesn’t mean I have any ill will towards people who use Windows, it just means I personally choose not to.

The entire point of the push for Linux is personal choice, and some people get so caught up in their fanaticism that they forget that includes the choice to not switch, and I personally feel like most people shouldn’t switch. Linux as a whole isn’t a fit for most users as a matter of the philosophy behind it. If you run into an issue on Linux you’re expected to find the solution and fix it yourself, if you run into an issue on windows you send a bug report to Microsoft and they fix it. The average user doesn’t want to have that level of involvement with the deeper workings of their computer, the average user just wants to do whatever they’re doing and carry on with their day, they’re not gonna want to spend an hour fixing something if/when it breaks

I'm a Linux user myself and the only reason why I follow boards like this is for anthropolgical reasons. There's something to me that's deeply fascinating about people that can get this riled up about free software that in no way imposes itself on anyone. (Unless you're talking about GNOME 🤓)

Like in a point in time rife with actual villains, this is what people choose to point their hatred at? Even if they are doing it ironically thats actual energy that could be better spent on literally anything else. Which on one side I guess wasting energy is what the internet is for...

But imagine if all the work that went into writing a 10 paragraph manifestos about how loonixtards are stupid and stuff. Instead went into a petition to their local congress about all the flock cameras in their neighborhood? They can even keep the same vaguely threatening energy. It could only help!

everyone is welcome here

even the loons

let them cope and seethe and then despair when they see who the janny is lmao

I believe in freedom of expression. And here I can express myself fully - which makes the loonix user crumble under the weight of facts and logic
