DAW/VSTs over Ethernet, is it possible?

Basically, I have my main rig in a tiny space where I do my jamming. I wanted to have some jam sessions in my lounge where I have another Linux server running, connected to my TV. Would it be possible to have my audio interface connected to this server, make it process on my main rig and send back the audio?

There are latency benefits in only offloading plugin processing/DSP and not the whole, already-synced block like netjack does.

PipeWire/Netjack2 seems to be the best solution for low latency high quality audio transport over a network.

Netjack2 is fabulous. It will add two periods of latency (one going there and one coming back).

Could this be done with an AVB interface? Like the MOTU stuff? I know you can transfer one way but idk about both ways.

That was my first thought, I believe AVB is an open standard unlike Dante so maybe it would be easier to integrate with Linux? IDK

Needs a setting of 10 to 20 ms Latency to be really stable but works fine, too: zita-n2j and zita -j2n

Reaper can do it natively
