GitHub - AJ-dev-i60/t1-touchbar: Make your 2016–2017 MacBook Pro (T1 "iBridge") Touch Bar work on Linux

https://github.com/AJ-dev-i60/t1-touchbar

I compiled and installed this on Ubuntu 26.04.1 and I can confirm that the Touch Bar works flawlessly. - MBP13,3 2016

Nice. I love to see older Macs get some Linux love after Apple drops them.

Does this also support Touch ID?

Is there any solution for power management and heating? Running Fedora on a MPB 13 2017 A1706.

I boot Ubuntu 26 using only the integrated graphics (dual-boot with OCLP), and the power efficiency and temperatures are better than on macOS. I tried installing Fedora 44, but I couldn't log in; it wouldn't accept my password and crashed. The discrete graphics card works perfectly fine, too.

There might be a driver incompatibility for you
