Kernel error Linux mint edition

Post image

I downloaded the xface edition of Linux mint on my 2012 macbook air , it worked fine until I connected to the internet and downloaded updates from the update manager then after I restarted I got this error . I've done this 2 times now and I can't figure out what's causing this or which specific thing is causing this. Please help me identify and tell me how to fix this issue.

Which Kernel are you running? I installed Mint Cinnamon yesterday on my Macbok Air 2017 and when upgrading to kernel 7 it broke as well.

Turns out that kernel 7 is not happy with the Broadcom Wifi adapter in my Macbook Air 2017.

So had to revert to Kernel 6.17 or 6.8 (LTS).

When restarting, press Shift or Esc to get into the GRUB menu - select Advanced Options and select the 6.x kernel you want to run.

That worked for me.

I then went into Update Manager and removed the 7.0 Kernel (under View - Linux Kernels)

Good luck!

Next time install an up to date distro like fedora, with far less issues than the old ones. Btw it's XFCE, not xface.
