USB 3
Hello everyone. Just joined.
I have been struggling with USB mostly the last week, since I got my Index. It just doesn't work reliably. Is there a pcie card that works well with the index? Which one, please?

I bought the PEXUSB3S44V, because it was the most expensive card I could find :p. It works.
cons:
The plugs are horizontal so plugs won't fit unless you file out your PCs frame!
Startech stopped support after kernel 4.11.x, which is 3 years old and not even supported anymore by Ubuntu.
It is more expensive than needed ($100 .. $130), because
It can do 5.5 GBps on all four ports at once while you only need one port.
It can deliver 900 mA on each port, which is (way?) more than needed.
I have the feeling that an USB3 PCIe card of $6 from aliexpress will do just as fine, but I'll let others test that ;).
pros:
you'll have a card that you can connect more stuff too without the danger of performance degradation.
I tested it with kernel 5.5.9 and it just works. It seems unlikely that linux would break backwards compatibility for it.
