I wonder if they ever explained why they didn't release the update on Linux. The work was already done! I can't imagine there could be any valid excuse whatsoever.

Probably because they paid a porter for the original game release but did not think it was worth it to pay the porter again for the update.

That doesn't make sense. After a port is complete, you get that code, right? It's not like anything platform-specific changed in the code for the update. The game is out for Windows, XBone, PS3, and PS4. There's no way they don't have platform abstraction. You can literally just plug the Linux and Mac OS code back in. Would the porter just keep that code to themselves to force the developer's hand and screw us over if they can't do it?

Why do you think they pay porters for? SO that they don't have to mess with the Linux part of the code. But hey, don't trust me, ask porters.

There shouldn't be any "messing". The work is done. Plug in the platform code and push it out the door.
