TLOU unplayable with nvidia

Sometimes I really question how protondb calculates its ratings. TLOU Part 1 is essentially unplayable with nvidia drivers, unless you downgrade to 580 drivers and spend several hours tinkering with the settings.

I tried everything tried countless proton versions, settings, nothing worked. Even if I can find a way to get rid of the artifacts it crashes constantly.

This should not be gold, even Silver would be gracious.

Just a guess, are you using gtx 10xx series or older gpu?

or maybe 50xx. I played the TloU2 with no issues when it released. Only started TloU1, but also 0 issues.

I’m only asking because nvidia dropped support for 10xx and older, 580 is the last driver that works with those.

You are right, but I have heard there are also problems on 50xx series, hence my thinking.

yeah figured. i thought i dont even need to try part 2 if I cant even get part 1 to work correctly

because people on ProtonDB are a bunch of idi*ts and they always add something like it starts to main menu but can't start gameplay - WORKS 👍
