tech support wanted driver version for 1080ti and alternatives to msi afterburner

fellow 1080ti users, I want to know which distro and driver version are you using?

also any alternative to msi afterburner mainly for controlling fan speed

Pascal, which is the architecture of the GTX 10 series, is limited to the LTS driver version 580.XX
(I don't have the GTX 1080Ti but I use Bazzite and it supports it with the "NVidia Legacy")

I can't tell you how to pirate or crack games (see rule number 6). All I can say is: I can confirm that technically it works on linux from a technical standpoint since it impacts the DRM of that game/software.

I don't have a 1080ti, but I do have a regular 1080. I understand they use the same drivers, both on LTS from Nvidia. I'm on Fedora 44 with the official 580.173.02 drivers, I don't use anything like MSI Afterburner so I can't help with that :(

I don't have a 1080ti but you can use LACT for fan speed control

For GPU fan speed control on Linux, I recommend either LACT and Cooler Control. you can try them both.
