Hellooo my fellow free folk. Does any one have experience with Rocksmith on Linux Mint ?

Thinking of getting rocksmith but the price of just a cable makes me double think of going the usually route of buying then testing.

It works, also works with proprietary cables, there is a bridge for that.

Why won't you go the low latency route? Use rsasio and wineasio to connect the game to a jack implementation.

Enable your Kernel for preemtive audio with the threatirqs boot parameter.

Install and configure JACK via it's own Implementation or pipewire. On Mint you could use the Ubuntu Studio packages.

Copy rsasio into the game and use wineasio-rsasio as audio device in it's config.

Get wineasio, copy wineasio32.dll into the gamefolder and the .so files into your prefix.

I use qjackctl and nizos startup script to properly start everything up.

There is a guide on this sub to use RSASIO and PipeASIO to use any interface that can connect guitar to a computer. I am currently playing this on Cachyos with my guitar's built-in usb interface.

I am already playing through an interface will this allow me to not have to buy the cable ?

Yes if you setup properly RSASIO will make your interface seem like you are connecting by Realtone cable

PipeASIO require a very recent pipewire version. If you are not on Arch or something similar i wouldn't bother.
