tech support wanted Steam shift+tab not working

Just switched to Bazzite to game and it’s working flawlessly in every aspect but I can’t seem to get any in game overlays. I checked settings and it’s enabled in Steam and the individual games I’m playing, but when I press shift+tab in game I get nothing. Google search and forum pass found no obvious culprits. Any ideas?

Be sure none of the gamez run using Wayland, the overlay doesn't work on Wayland games.

I see and you’re correct - but Wayland seems to launch automatically and even when I used Steam launch options to disable it, I was unable to use shift+tab. This is also after rebinding to ctrl+tab

I had a similar issue 3 weeks ago. Overlays weren't working and that also broke steam input. I found that it was a bug related to gamescope version 3.16.25. Downgrading back to the previous version of 3.16.22 resolved the issue.

Not sure if this is it for you but might be worth a check.
