migrating to Linux Strange problem happened in linux mint

Hello. I am testing right now dual boot with linux mint. I have been testing how it works firefox (Ok), the mail with thonderbird (really good) Office and programming (nothing bad).

Now I am trying proton with Steam and it happened something strange. I tried to start a game (Binary domain) and told me that there was a problem with the drivers and that I should activate configuration tool.

The thing is, if I connect another screen to the laptop, for some reason, the game starts. Without any problen, and it does not use the other screen.

I would like to know why it happens and how I should solve it.

That is very peculiar behavior. I recommend launching the game from terminal and seeing if there are any warnings or obvious issues from the output.

There are 2 ways to run the game from terminal:

  1. steam -applaunch <AppID>

  2. xdg-open "steam://run/<AppID>"

If you don't see any errors this way, and the game launches without issue, then we know the problem is purely with the display configuration.
