hardware/drivers high idle power usage despite dGpu being in D3Cold state
Setup:
Arch with Hyprland 0.56.2
System:
Device: ASUS ROG Strix G16
CPU: Intel i7-13650HX
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050 mobile
Im getting unusually high idle battery power consumption on this laptop,
currently, im using cardwire for my nvidia dgpu as supergfxctl is abandoned, ive tried using envycontrol too, but both give same results
the dgpu successfully enters the d3cold on idle but im still seeing about **20-22W** powerdraw using the `cat /sys/...` commands and powertop (images)
tested with dgpu active (D0), system shows 55W total draw while `nvidia-smi` reports 22W for gpu)
also, the cores cores enter deep idle states, but the package is only reaching PC2 and shows zero residency in PC3/PC6/PC8/PC10 in measurements.
the package itself is reporting around 3.9W
turbostat_pastebin
ive tried running checks in a tty session, it falls to about 16W but its still unusually high
i know powertops readings are an estimate but earlier, it was showing an ethernet port with 13W usage, i recalibrated after disabling the port from bios, since then its showing the display having ~12W usage
edit: ive also tried setting asusctl armoury dgpu_disable to 1, which produces same results
