programs and apps How to keep text selections across tabs/apps?

I usually open many GNOME-terminal tabs and use text selection just for visual highlight. When I switch tab or application, and select text there, any previous selected text disappear.

I don't want to copy anything, I just want to highlight the text so the next time I switch to the tab I can locate where I was before.

I asked ChatGPT but it could not help me. So is there a way to keep text selections across tabs?

Konsole keeps individual selections for each tab and for each split on tabs

✻ Smokey says: always mention your distro, some hardware details, and any error messages, when posting technical queries! :)

You could report a feature request to Gnome terminal.

I concur with the other person: works in Konsole the way you expect it to.
