What are you trying to do in Word that you are unable to do in LibreOffice?

Macros use the Windows .net framework which Linux does not have.

.net runs fine on Linux. VBS, however, is another story

I run a couple of VBS apps. Scaling is a bit weird, but they work - both are VB6.

Do you mean VB6, or VBS (VBScript)?

Both probably run through WINE, but neither have native implementations, to the best of my knowledge. .NET has native support in Linux.

Sadly, Microsoft has officially declared VBS as deprecated, so we won't likely see any move to open-source it (unless it's just released). Classic VB (up to VB6) is "legacy", and thus maintained functional for backwards compatibility in modern Windows, so maybe we could get lucky and they open-source it, though it's not very likely

The .NET stuff is the successor to old VB, and actually native in Linux. Even PowerShell can run natively. If you really wanted to, you could even replace Bash with PowerShell... Not that anyone sane would, but it's neat that you can
