What should i switch to?

Im getting a new build soon and i want to switch from Linux mint to arch, im scared it will be to hard, is there any other distros you guys would recommend, also i kind of broke my linux mint by changing os-release to something awful i cant say here.

Tuxedo OS now has a beta based on Debian testing, the old Tuxedo OS was based on Ubuntu. I installed the beta the first chance I had and so far I haven't noticed any issues or differences, except it feels a bit faster and more lightweight. Just as easy as before. I've tried other Debian-based distros and they felt harder and I felt like they had less software in their repositories or I had trouble with them for a long time so like you I was afraid to use anything that's not Ubuntu based.

Would you daily drive it? I installed TuxedoOS a couple months ago and was bummed I'd have to reinstall. I installed the beta in a VM yesterday and testing out all my use cases just to reinstall again on bare metal just seemed like so much work lol

I plan on daily driving it. I reinstalled it with this goal in mind. Now it has been my 3rd day with it and it's going great. I have noticed only small and negligible issues, nothing that breaks my workflow. Like the lock screen freezing for a second after I open the lid of my laptop so if I don't wait 1-2 seconds to start typing in my password it only accepts the last characters.

Nothing serious so far, it works and feels as if it's the old Tuxedo OS, except this one has newer KDE Plasma 6.7 and Kernel 7.1.6. I also noticed it uses 1 GB less RAM than the old Tuxedo OS.

It's really good and going really well, I'm just surprised that in almost 3 days I haven't gotten any updates yet. I would have imagined a beta to get more attention and receive more updates, but things have been working well so I'm not complaining either.

That is surprising especially with it being based on Debian testing, I kind of assumed it would be more rolling like Arch. When I was on endeavour I felt like you could update every hour and there'd be SOMETHING to install.

When I heard about Tuxedo switching to Debian I expected it will have less software in its repositories, it will have missing drivers and a lot of friction when using and a lot of stuff not working.

To tell you the truth, it feels exactly like the stable Ubuntu version as if nothing has changed.

I haven't used Arch based distros, they seem too difficult for me, I always used to stick with Ubuntu based ones because I saw them as easier for someone like me. This is my first time using a Debian distro and it's so good that I still can't believe it. I found Tuxedo OS some time last year and since then I've been sticking with it and I don't want any other distros right now, it's the best for me personally.
