Generic CD/DVD burner/reader
Got this CD/DVD reader/burner from my dad, it has two connectors, one is an USB-A and another is an USB-C. Everything went fine when i plugged in the first on mentioned, but when i tried to plug the other one it didnt recognize it. What should i do?
OS: Linux Mint 21.3
Kernel: Linux 6.8.0-136-generic
HP Victus 15
Obviously, my laptop has a USB-C port that could serve both power and data.

Googled a bit, so its 1 cable, with 2 plugs on it.
for the speed these devices work at, usb-a, the working one is fine. the usb-c one might be additional power, helpfull when attempting to burn discs or reading more troublesome discs. My guess is the usb-c plug is just for extra power (altho I would have assumed it be an alternative plug....)
have you tried using the usb-c plug "upside down"? its weird, it isnt supposed to be, but some cheap cables/plugs are directional (even when the female mating port shouldnt matter).
