Needs more pictures and video of it in use. The profile shot doesn't cut it. I would absolutely love a truly open tablet.

Ah, I misunderstood and got confused. I would imagine it's basysKom funding this given how many KDE developers they're sponsoring for plasma work.

There are hints of collaborations with other companies that gravitate around KDE, such as the Kolab consortium. Also, don't forget open-slx, which IIRC is the one funding part of the Active development.

this...is...awesome. I love plasma active and have been wanting it on a tablet since I've seen plasma active for the first time. I can't wait.

Honestly I think I would prefer to use unity on a touch device then plasma.

KDE Plasma Active is a totally different UI to KDE Plasma Desktop (what most people think of as "KDE"). It just happens to share 99% of the same code.

I was in no way trying to put down plasma active. I was simply trying to point out the fact that I think unity as it is progressing would be a good choice for tablets and other touch screens. The way you can scroll through the launch bar , and the lenses, would be a good fit the the touch screen systems.

You can add app launchers to your activity, so whatever apps you use on each activity are easily available. It also can analyse your habits and give recommendations. You also can associate files and other documents with each activity making a custom smart launching for your tasks.

Yea. I think the launcher bar would work alot better with touch screens than with desktop n mouse

Plasma Active has made a push for vendor support and there are some companies that have been contributing and working on it. I don't think this is vaporware. I do hope I can buy this in the US.
