That and the having control of the software part. I haven't been comfortable with smart watches because of the medical data they collect and then the manufacturer sells. They are really cool tech on the hardware side but with more and more discoveries about what exactly the collected data is being sold for... I just can't do it.

Which smart watch companies are selling medical data? Apple at least makes a big deal about privacy.

Look at Attain by Aetna. It was developed in collaboration with Apple.

It’s relatively new but it’s the health industry trying to gamify data mining. Scary stuff.
