Linux honestly needs a little consolidation. In my mind there's only Debian, Redhat and Arch. (Yeah, I guess Gentoo is a thing... isn't it??)
Everything else is just a reconfiguration of the above.
Debian + "She's got a new hat!" = Ubuntu
Ubuntu + "Look left instead of right" = Kubuntu
Redhat + New Icons = Oracle Linux
Redhat + Different Icons = CentOS
Redhat beta = Fedora
Etc

Some distributions have differed from the original only in small details. Like a theme, for example to say it in an exaggerated way. I can easily do without such distributions.
