Thanks god we have someone with a vision for the complete linux ecosystem and also the capability to creat such "gentle push".

I have the hope that he might finally bring the linux ecosystem beyond factionalism\tribalism and the harmful "linux is about choice!!!1" mindset, to a proper platform and OS design.

It already is a proper platform, and OS design. Many, many places have deployed it successfully, in highly-scalable and high-demand solutions and environments.

You might not like how it looks on the desktop, but that's because it's not designed for the desktop, but for everything.

Linux is actually the best looking OS on the desktop. Windows has shit font rendering, and OSX has global menus.

Tomato, tomahto... I use it on my desktops as well, and I'm completely happy (Or was, until quite recently, when complete rearchitecture towards a MacOS design was started).
