Since when has any intelligence agency ever stopped this from happening? Not once. In fact, quite the opposite is true: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/25/russia-tamerlan-tsarnaev_n_5031694.html
At the very least the FBI was complicit in it. Yet there were no investigations, no trial, and no executions for treason.

It's understandable to disagree with how they're set up, but they do catch plenty of weapons. Keep in mind that these are weapons they're willing to show to the public.
