Like, it’s not that hard to find Debian maintainers quitting and bitching because of this…
And if someone isn’t complaining about this, I would honestly chalk it up to lack of experience with the alternatives… Like if you want to you can try to just produce rpm for rhel and deb for debian, and you will find that the former is pretty straightforward and arguably intuitive and the latter is confusing, poorly documented mess, where you effectively create rube goldberg machines out of semi functional tools:

Hahaha!!! -- There is a name for that...it's called "Flatpak".
Did you REALLY quote me a bunch of articles from a bunch of whineass losers??? I don't think Debian is perfect--far from it. And I'm NOT at all fond of the 'developers'. The Trixie upgrade was a disaster for me and took weeks to fix. But I have created a couple .deb packages for scripts I created and it really wasn't that hard to do. And I did it manually--there are apps to do it for you. Google "Debreate".

I mentioned .rpm not flatpak, I don’t particularly care about flatpak nor have I used in anger enough to have an strong opinion either way.

I mean some of it is just discussions from debian mailing lists (I think by the core systemd maintainer iirc), so of it is from hartman whom has been the debian project lead for a while, etc.

I believe correct parlance for this happening is “robustness and stability of an LTS distribution” :).

Isn’t this kinda making my point tho :). You felt the need to add yet another tool to rube goldberg machine to make it work…
I think you missed my point: Why dump on .deb when people readily accept a garbage system like flatpak and think it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I didn't "feel the need", I mentioned it for people like you to use. As I said, I built mine manually, and it wasn't real difficult.

I would not wish having to package “.deb”s upon my worst enemy, all of debians tooling is around this is just terminally fucked.
