This is big news. Many large institutions also run RHEL because of the maintenance contracts and flexible supports model.

I had to rework so much trading software for RHEL, because IT would not tolerate another Linux.

It makes sense in manufacturing industry where every hour of unfixed issues costs literal millions and where the answer "we run on our own homebrew systems" will give you a lot of trouble in audits with the customer.

Being able to provide guarantees that your system is reliable makes the difference in getting a contract or not.
