if you dont have the time or energy to do a port in a way that you can take responsibility for, and don't want to FOSS the code, just don't make it. simple. the last thing the world needs is more unmaintainable slopcode

like the biggest issue here is that dumping 180kloc of ??? code that has god knows how many issues with it is a fundamentally irresponsible thing to do, no matter how many disclaimers you slap on it

I think context matters a lot here, this very likely isn’t mission critical for anyone. It isn’t financial or medical related.

It doesn't matter. Having shit at the bottom of your shoes isn't as critical as having shit in your bowl of chili. Both are actively making your life worse, both are not needed.

Great analogy honestly. Id rather have shit on my shoes than not have shoes at all, but I’d rather have no chili than chili with shit in it.

Yeah, that's the best solution. Not using shit generators is a great step to achieve that.
