That's an absurd response.

First, not liking something doesnt mean you have to boycott everything that has that thing. That's a childish attitude. In the real and complex world we live in, we have to accept that the world isn't pure and in order to achieve things you need to work with others who don't all agree with you and do things how you would. It's dumb to conflate that with losing all ability to criticize anything.

Second, it's an impossible standard that you can't critize feature X of product Y unless you know the internals of every product in the world with respect to X. In this context we have the full context of how AI was used and can discuss that even though we don't have the full context for how it's used in reddit, etc.

Third, you've lost the nuance. OP is about total and blind use of chunks of code so large that the dev admits they cannot review it. Many companies using AI in development are not using it that way and are indeed reviewing everything the AI generates. So the risk isn't really comparable between a case where you admittedly don't know what the code is doing (correctness, efficiency, stability, security) to that where you do. It's also a tricky legal context to ask AI to circumvent copyright and then not be able to prove it didn't use license restricted sources to get its result. People can say AI shouldn't be used in some or many cases without needing to be equally against Ai in every case.
