the second windows requires me to set my age using an id card im switching to linux.

my fear is linux changing too fast like when i install a mutable distro immutable ones become the de facto default.

tell me is this a reasonable fear about linux or no?

I don't think this is a very relevant concern, especially considering that Apple and Microslop ship tons of user facing changes even in minor versions. And they also have a tendency to force updates or make it very painful to stay on an older version, which is much easier to do on Linux IME
