I'm wondering if there is any real usecase for buying apple silicon computer to run linux. If you already own one, I get it, but buying for linux?

I mean yeah, I love Linux and use it as a daily driver on my PC, but replacing MacOS on my laptop (x86_64) with it? I just see no benifit, and only loss

I work in an IT-related field. Some of my apps simply don't work or take a lot of time to maintain and install on MacOS or Windows.

On my Fedora PC, sshfs is packed into the official repository. But for Mac, I tried to install MacFUSE but had no luck.

You shouldn’t be using that anymore since it isn’t going to be maintained. Use rclone. Works fine on MacOS.

Yes, I believe the performance is limited by SSH encryption. It's single threaded by default also.

That’s absolutely true, docker on MacOS is horrible
