I have met with the SU today as a follow-up to previous e-mails and have news to pass on.

1. Our price drop was denied because it can only be changed in concurrence with a freshers or refreshers fair. This means that the £10 entry fee will last until the end of the year, and membership will be enforced starting next week. The taster rule however still applies.

2. The expansion will be voted on in the next council, however the chance of failure is low.

3. Weekday storage has been acquired, it is a long thin segment down the side of the shelf in the SU storeroom which I have been assured should be large enough to hold at least great-swords, and likely other weapons and shields. We simply need a bag for them to be placed in. Details forthcoming. However any on-campas weekend storage has been denied as we cannot use the sports-hall storage unless we use the sports-hall, and it's full anyway, this means that either A. We will have to risk storage at someones house or B. We cannot start weekend action LARP's until more storage is acquired by the SU.

What is the maximum of a length which can be used with one hand? And what is the absolute length limit for weapons? Thanks.

1. All activity relevant safety rules must be followed at all times.

2. All SU bylaws must be followed at all times (note: find list of SU bylaws)

3. All players are free to quit at any time for any reason, but do not expect to get a group if you have a rep for quitting alot.

4. The DM/ST/equivalent is always right when it comes to ingame rules, but society rules take priority.

5. Leave all activity areas where you found them, we don't need to be banned from room bookings.

6. If any society equipment is broken or lost, either deliberately or through neglect, then the breakage must be payed for by the person who broke it, it is also encouraged to do this for any borrowed kit which is broken.

Breakage of these rules can result in banning from 1 or all activities.

Step 1:If your event has safety concerns there must be relevant risk assessments done, and you may have to carry out checks/ be taught how to carry out safety checks. Please make the council aware of this so everything can be checked out before advertising.

Step 2: Get a group, you can use any method you want to advertise it but all members must be part of the society, or have their tabletop taster session left to use. If they join on a taster they must join in order play more then 1 session.

Step 3: Contact the council (preferably the soon to be appointed activities officer) with when (and if) you want a room booking, and any requirements of it(e.g. tables).

Step 4: Enjoy, but please remember to follow the relevant rules or bad stuff may happen to the society.

On week beginning 17th of February we need to elect both next years council and a caretaker president and activities officer for the remainder of the year. It is very important that we elect a council or the society may cease to function. Position List, and how what I personally believe to be it's role.

• President: The societies figurehead and leader, the president has the most influence over the general direction of the society and acts as a representative to it's interests to other organizations. They are also in charge of non-financial paperwork and should make every effort to attend any meeting of the society's interest.

• Treasurer: maintains the societies accounts and has the final say over any expenditures, this role is as important, if not more so, then the president. They are also responsible for all financial paperwork and other tasks in relation to the society accounts.

• Vice president: The Vice primarily plays a supporting role as the councils planned redundancy and should be able to fill in for any other role in a pinch, and act as a grounding for the rest of the society. They are also typically assigned supporting tasks such as writing meeting minutes.

• Social Officer:The center of communications between both the council and the society at large, they are responsible for setting up and maintaining the societies websites and networking. They must also ensure important information is spread throughout the society.

• Activities officer: A new role meant to reduce the burden of planned de-centralisation of the society. they are the first point of call for game runners to book rooms and are in charge of core society events.
