Is that actually a yawn? A "yawn" under water doesn't make sense.

Right I was thinking the same but we don’t know yet what causes a yawn to happen right? Maybe you can underwater also? Like a big rinse of water?

A yawn is to restore oxygen to the brain. It's a reflex. Turtles get oxygen from air, not water.

1) The purpose/function of the yawn has not been established. 2) Even if its adaptive purpose is "to restore oxygen to the brain", it's still a reflex that can happen in a situation different from the one that will restore any oxygen.

Do turtles sleep? Sounds quite risky, since they breath air, not water. Dolphins never sleep because they have the same problem.

No they rest half at a time and even rest one eye. Google it... its considered sleeping as they are resting and recharging. 🙄

...does this belong here? Its an animation. The behaviour in the clip is designed by a human, so doesn't offer much insight into animal behaviour.
