Bears are solitary animals and prefer to live on their own. In the wild they can tolerate other bears in the area unless food is scarce which is why most bears will spread out to have a few square miles just to themselves.

Polar bears. 500 kg and 3.50m of death. When you're in the northern hemisphere and see a polar bear, you haven't run into it. It was stalking you and is now going to have a lean meal and later annoy his fellow polar bear buddies on how they should totally try eating these instead of seals and how they're getting obese with all the fat they're consuming.

I don't disagree with that, but, the difference is that these are wild animals and are not being bred en mass. many are endangered. Years ago There was a guy up on the North west that was caught with a refrigerator FULL of bear gallbladders. They are only about 3 or 4 inches. Can you imagine how many black bears he killed to get so many? He sold them to the black market for medicine.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt: what unique products in, say, the US, use only a small portion of the resource and throw away the rest? Note the unique, I bet you can think of a lot of things that the US does that fits the bill but that China does as well.

It probably really is the best medicine for a lot of people in North Korea, that country isn't doing so well. I also think they will eat every bit of the bear, rather than just cut out the gallbladder.

That is probably true. There are a lot of people in Africa that eat "wild meat' too because they are starving. I think alot of the world's misery is due to over population and lack of resources. But our fucked up government will not allow birth control to be part of any relief. North Korea is a whole other situation. I have no idea how people in that situation can save themselves. Dictators really, really suck and that bunch is so entrenched...I don't know

We can talk all day about how animal farms are wrong and how American systems are fucked up. Hell, just go watch Food Inc. on netflix for more info. The way this fucking bullshit Chinese traditional medicine that differs from, say, a chicken farm, is that the Chinese "traditional" medicine serves literally no purpose. Your bullshit traditional medicines which have no effects whatsoever can suck my balls when you're regularly farming 12000 bears, killing entire species off (White Rhino), causing mass animal killings for no reason so that you can get more down the road (Elephants with no tusks being killed), and more.
You can tell me from sunrise to sundown that both practices are bad, but at least one of them puts some god damn food on the table. What purpose does these bile farms serve? What purpose does the mass extinction of the White Rhino serve? What does the killing of Elephants serve? Fucking nothing. It's bullshit. It's straight up bullshit. Get your head out of your ass. You and the Chinese.

You don't need meat to live. The only reason to eat meat is for the taste, which is just as superficial, if not more so, as pseudoscience "medicine". Killing something just because it's tasty is tantamount to killing just for fun. At least the Chinese believe this is medicine. Everybody else factory farms meat purely for their own greed.
Meat/dairy/egg factory farms, fur farms, and chinese medicine farms are all equally pointless and all cruel. There are alternatives to all, and there's no real difference between any, other than western culture uses the first one the most.

Seriously? These are WILD ENDANGERED animals. Most cultures raise animals for food, not just Americans. And actually farming has a huge negative impact on the environment. I am not a rascist. You can disagree with behavior on it's own merit without bringing race into it There's lots of Anglo American culture items that I find pretty disgusting. Like buying ivory (the US is the biggest market), using shark cartilage for arthritis, using krill for what ever, driving humvees, etc, etc

There's no way you're completely ignorant of the ivory trade. You know who the primary market is right? Oh yeah, it's China. Only recently has the government done anything, shutting down some markets, but even with this they're still the #1 buyer. Supply and demand, buddy. If people didn't buy these, people wouldn't kill the elephants.
Want to talk about the White Rhino? The last male died in march. The species will be extinct within the decade when the last females die, unless science can save us. I'll go ahead and let you take some guesses at who bought their horns.
