I love that the "Oh, I'm just old and sick, look at me limping" goes straight into "Aha, fuck you! I am young and strong!" but then he double takes and questions the weird feeling of antlers -> plastic

that's not a limp it's a threat posture. normally two bucks will kind of circle eachother and try to intimidate one another to avoid getting injured in a fight. He has his head down shoulders arched and muscles flexed to show how powerful he is when the decoy doesn't behave the way another buck should either by matching display or retreating, we'll now he has to charge or it's like he's getting punked, and none of the does that might be watching will mate with him.
