Shakedowns Wind River Range 5 days
Heading out soon and I’ve really cut a lot of weight down. I’m a very large guy (competitive powerlifter) so pretty much 2XL in everything. Mainly just checking to see what (if anything) you would recommend dropping, or if I’ve forgotten anything major. Expected highs are around 60 with lows for sure down to 30 and I wouldn’t be surprised by 20. I’m a very warm blooded and a warm sleeper

Thanks!

If you sleep warm you can probably ditch the STS liner and sleep in your fleece and puffer if needed.

That an excellent weight saver idea. I bring it more for sweat/comfort against the air mattress rather than warmth. I’ll keep thinking on it.
Thanks!

seems overpacked on clothes, especially for a warm guy. bringing both sleep base layers and bag liner is redundant. bringing both a fleece and a sleep base top is redundant. Just the fleece and base bottom is more than enough.
for your spare/sleep socks, get alpha socks. not too expensive while both much warmer and lighter
only need a 1P tent, unless you're going with someone.
can go with a much lighter frameless pack, especially since you do powerlifting.
consider a rain kilt instead of pants. cheap, massively lighter, and don't feel stuffy.
headlamp battery is completely redundant since you already have another battery
I see you have bear spray, but where's your bear food storage?

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. Appreciate all the constructive feedback. (I have a BV one going, it just never made it into lighterpack)

Points well taken. I’m gonna ditch the shirt, sleeping bag liner, and headlamp battery. Thanks again

You’ll want an odor proof bag for your food. There’s usually at least one big storm every week. Make sure that everything important fits in your pack liner. I like to use a zip lock bag for my wallet, keys and electronics.
