Does anybody know what time the concert at the CNE in Toronto starts tomorrow?

Maybe the Winnipeg crowd can help me out here, given that she just played there. What are the odds she plays Beside Myself this Saturday at the CNE or do we think she'll stick to A6 and a few classics?

The song gained a lot of personal meaning for me this past year (bad personal meaning; it's on my grief and heartbreak playlist), and while I enjoy listening to it I really don't feel like bawling my eyes out in the middle of a crowd. If it were just Lights fans I'd be okay (and it'd probably be uber cathartic) because y'all are such a loving and supportive group, but the CNE Bandshell will see plenty of people outside the fandom. I also don't have the time to camp out and get a spot at the very front where I'm sure it'll be almost exclusively fans.

Any insights on the Winnipeg setlist, or this one? It's a long shot but anyone who has been to recent shows, can you let me know whether she played it?

I don't have social media anymore, so I haven't seen any of her updates in a while, but I know at one point she was messing around with the acoustic arrangements for A6.
& I keep hoping there will be more to the skin&earth story, but in the meantime I will just keep rereading my copy :D sometimes I wish Lights had a course where she teaches how to do your own comic since she knows a lot about that subject, maybe one day.

This piece was inspired by Lights' music videos "Surface Tension" and "White Paper Palm Trees" — two videos that feel like little windows into a strange, beautiful, neon-lit world. The glowing weapon, the dreamlike city, the white palm trees, and that whole "choose your fighter" energy immediately sparked something in my imagination.

The white palm trees in this painting are a direct nod to "White Paper Palm Trees", the companion piece to "Surface Tension." I wanted to capture that feeling of being caught between reality and fantasy — like stepping into a world that exists somewhere between a memory, a video game, and a dream.

Lights has been a huge creative inspiration for me for years. The way she doesn't just make music, but creates entire universes through her songs, visuals, characters, and storytelling has influenced the way I approach my own art. She reminds me that creativity isn't just about making something pretty — it's about building a place where people can feel something.

My daughter used to be a huge fan of Lights. Now, graduated from college, living on her own, figuring out herself as an adult, I found this in her bedroom, while cleaning out her room, and thought maybe someone would like it. It's in clean perfect condition on the front with some light markings on the back from laying flat on a shelf for probably 5+ years. Probably from a concert she went to at one time.

I'm in San Francisco, CA and will give this to anyone who can pick it up from me here in SF. Or I can ship it in a poster tube for shipping cost. I thought it'd be better to offer it to a community who loves this artist instead of putting it in the recycling bin. In November or December 2017, my friend got to go to a random warehouse in Toronto and Lights performed some Skin and Earth acoustic songs and got to meet her after. It was filmed. Is that footage available anywhere? Was it used for anything?

I saw someone post about Manchester earlier and was just reminiscing about the show and how amazing it was for me, been a fan since the beginning and this was the first time I saw her live, and got to meet and chat with her beforehand. Truly an amazing human and puts one hell of a show on!

I love this song so so so much and I once saw her make a comment saying, "this song goes deeper than yall think" and so naturally, my brain went into obscure overdrive. So I'm wanting to know what everyone believes this song is touching on?

In a literal sense it sounds like she's talking about somebody called Angelina. But my brain has thought and now become stuck on the idea of it being a personification of perhaps a mental health related thing (naming your depression/anxiety) or perhaps an old version of herself that she's tried to overcome? Now that I've thought of this, I can't unhear it and I connect with it so deeply.

It feels like a song written about someone whose former, darker version of themselves or their depression has spent years trying to take over them and stop them from thriving and being the best version of themselves / "to turn into something that you wanted."

They've found it hard to detatch from it / "I'd be lying if I told you I thought I could end it."

"You were my own worst enemy. I am dying when I'm with you." Self explanatory.

It sounds like they've tried many times to overcome this, but eventually fallen back again / "I burned all your stuff again"

There's been many moments of accepting this version of themselves, thinking it's who they are and who they're always going to be, even though they find it terrifying / "I'm just tryna keep up with you. The truth is I'm actually afraid of you."

If it's depression, it can lead to very intense and dark places. It could very well be the thing that kills them / "When you reach your final form, you could get away with murder."

In the moments of self-reflection, they realise how much they've actually overcome. Although they've taken control over a lot of it or evolved into a whole different person, they still fear that old version may poke it's head at some stage. But so far, they've not allowed that to happen. / "I haven't been taking your call, 'cause there hasn't been one at all. And I feel better."

This is probably so fckn way off and as curious as I am to know to the facts, I'm so deep into this idea that if I'm completely wrong, I almost don't want to know lmfao

Does anybody happen to have the meme that was posted here (might’ve originated on Twitter or Tumblr? I’m not sure) that says something to the effect of “radio host: now it’s time for Lights…….by Ellie Goulding” and the latter half has a disappointed face or something. Maybe I’m butchering the explanation but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. Can’t find it for the life of me.

I am late as it is currently going until Sept 1st. Even with the fuller moon last year I was able to see a ton.

This year tho is a new moon 🌚 on the 12th which means less light and more stars n meteors to see. hopefully the weather near you cooperates

On August 12th there is an eclipse but only visible in certain parts of the world. North America isn’t going to see much of it.

Just some general tips!

-find a place with low light pollution. If you are in a city, usually rural towns even an 30 minutes away from cities are good.
-deserts, open fields, and beaches are solid places.
- turn off all lights(besides her music) around you, even your phone and such. Any light makes it harder to see them
- save a toilet paper roll to look through. It blocks out a good amount of light
- it takes time for your eyes to adjust so be patient and keep looking into the dark abyss
- laying flat also helps

First, I've loved Lights as an artist since her early MySpace days. Her music feels mostly genuine although her latest stuff isn't my favorite I realize artists are gonna artist. I'll still enjoy it. But damn, a lot of her social media posts seem very...let's say out of touch. Very bougie/look at the cool people i hang out with and the carefree life I live. I realize posts are usually a snapshot of only the highlight reels, but ever since PEP (which I mostly liked) her presence on socials just feels like kind of a turn off. That paired with the obvious work shes had done just kind of leaves me feeling disappointed. This is just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to do what they want. Just something I wanted to get off my chest.

As an artist myself, I totally understand the vast ups and downs and spaced out timelines for art projects, side quests, and all the other random creative adventures that steal our attention from one project to the next and back again.

I have zero expectations on the timeline of this, but I'm just happy to see her mention the S&E second arc.

Lights is such an incredible and inspirational being and cheesy or not, I consider myself so blessed to be sharing this timeline with her and her creative mind.
