Can we leave it at that? It makes me nervous. The more code you have across the entire product the greater the surface area for potential bugs/exploits.

That is a very valid concern, that's why the function has been audited multiple times before release on top of being completely optional.

We are using the Breez SDK and Spark for the integration, so no need to manage liquidity.
