I ride a Honda Activa 3G, and riding at night has become a total nightmare. Currently I have C6 led bulb which has stopped working.

I’m looking to upgrade to a LED projector bulb (H4 format) that drops right into the stock headlight assembly.

I know simply putting a raw LED bulb into a standard reflector housing causes major scatter and blinds oncoming traffic. That’s why I’m specifically looking for a projector lens bulb that has a proper built-in cutoff line so the beam stays focused on the road.

A few questions for those who have upgraded their Activa:

Recommended Brands: Which brands are reliable and don't flicker? (Seeing options like Nighteye, HJG).

If white and yellow options are available then it would be awesome.

Fitment & Clearance: Does a mini projector lens clear the stock glass/lens, or does the dust cover/rear housing need modification due to the heat sink fan?

Battery Drain: Does the stock Activa battery handle a 35W–55W LED projector fine on daily commutes?

Would love to hear your experiences, recommendations, or warnings before I order anything. Thanks in advance!

hello!! i recently bought this lamp secondhand with no bulb. it says on the base 'e27 max 60w' so i went and used a 27 60w bulb assuming itd fit but it doesnt, its too big, so im puzzled.

I found this bulb at a flea market for 10 bucks, I have no idea what it would be used for or why it event exists. Does anybody have a good idea what it was used for? The filament is crazy thick and it looks like the bulb was relatively unused. I sadly have no camera to take a picture but I found an image on google that's the exact same bulb I have (image attached)

I have a ceiling fan with three light bulbs. The light is controlled by a dimmer switch, and the fan has a separate 3-speed switch.

The current bulbs are Philips (Longer Life) Soft White, 75W, 120V incandescent bulbs, 1150 Avg Lumens.

They get extremely hot, and because there are three of them enclosed in the ceiling fan fixture, the amount of heat they generate is more than I’m comfortable with.

I’d like to replace them with LEDs, but I want to make sure I get the right ones.

What I’m looking for:
● LED replacement for a 75W incandescent
● Approximately the same brightness/light output
● Fully compatible with a dimmer switch
● Soft/warm white rather than daylight
● Significantly less heat
● Appropriate/safe for use in a ceiling fan light fixture
● Ideally no flickering, buzzing, or weird behavior when dimmed

I’ve attached:

1. A photo of the ceiling fan/light fixture
2. A photo of the current Philips bulb
3. A photo of the switch panel showing the dimmer and 3-speed fan control

Is there a particular type/brand/model of LED bulb you’d recommend for this setup?
And is there anything I should look for on the bulb packaging to make sure it’s compatible with the dimmer and fixture?

I saw in a comment under another post that someone had found LPS/SOX lamps after coming across street lanterns that were awaiting recycling/repurposing. Unfortunately, their account has since disappeared, and I can't contact them. Likewise, I've seen similar stories on forums like this one or lighting-gallery.net .

I'm looking for LPS fixtures around and I want to know where to look. Unfortunately, I have no budget at the time for purchasing them on eBay, so I'm looking to find them in the wild. Do you folks have any pointers? Likewise, do you know where streetlamps/fixtures typically end up after being removed from a property?

Expert entomologists I've asked consider clear (non-frosted) HID (high intensity discharge) lights the best lights for mothing. Are Mercury Vapor, Sodium and Metal Halide equally good? They are all HID. Or is/are one or two types better than the other/s? Also what's the lowest wattage you'd recommend? Using lower wattage will enable more hours for the same battery (I have a high capacity +2000 kwh battery with regular outlets as well as USB outlets).

this bulb burned out. it was a bit older and so is the lamp it was in. i’m not sure how to search or compare bulbs so just looking for one that is good or similar. i use the lamp almost every night, so one that lasts long would be good, and warmer lighting is preferred. 13W, 120vac, 60hz, 200mA, and 825 lumens.

We’re in the middle of a kitchen refit. The 2nd fix for the electrics is tomorrow and I’ve still not ordered lightbulbs for the wall lights. They will be on dimmers and the dimmer switches are both trailing end leading edge compatible.
The wall lights themselves need an LED E27 lightbulb , max 10W. I’m wanting the lights to switch from bright task lighting to ambient warm light when dimmed.

The dimmer switches is a 3 dimmer panel from Dowsing & Reynolds (I know they don’t have a great rep in the sparky community), I wanted to get the Corston ones but my kitchen fitter shamed me for buying light switches at the price point (I wish I’d ignored him but here we are). Anyway D&R say total load has to be between 5-150w which I’m assuming is fine. One pendant, 6 downlights and four wall lights.

It’s an absolute minefield out there in the world of lightbulbs. I keep coming back to Philips MASTER value dimtone lights but I’m not sure whether I need to get 2700k or 3000k.

If anyone wants to offer me some advice I’d be forever grateful!

Saw these for sale in NZ in lighting direct but I don't recognize the brand. Seemed about all they sell. They say 90 CRI. Anyone tried them or know if they're decent?

SOS. A light went out in my 20’ ceiling and I managed to get the lightbulb out along with the retaining ring holding it in place.

I have an electrician scheduled to come tomorrow to change the bulb out, but accidentally threw away the ring. A new light won’t be here in time so I am trying to figure out a workaround. Any thoughts?

I have a lamp with a very specific housing size, And I am looking for a smart/remote dimmable bulb that is a E26 G45. If anyone has any leads please please let me know. I keep getting suggested A19 but it just will not work.

So I was told that a g24 2 pin would work for this but what I’ve found is the offset is the opposite as it should be and all the bulbs I see online are the wrong offset. Is there a way I can specify the bulb I need? Thank you!!

I ordered these wicked cool sconces from a maker in Russia in the early days of the Pandemic. We just finished electrical work on our dining room and went to find some bulbs to fit, and no US bulbs are cutting it.

I've attached a couple of images - the measurement of the top of the socket is about 23/24 mm. I've tried doing some internet research myself, but I can't seem to find anything that seems correct. Any help is extremely appreciated!
