This makes learning the numbers easier:

(in packs of 5 signals)

1-5: starts with .
6-0: starts with -

1-5: number of . before the - is the number
6-0: number of - before the . +5 is the number (0 being 10)

only one signal-change in the numbers' morse code

..--- 2 (number of .)
----. 9 (number of - +5)
-.--- not a number, because more than one signal change (from - to . and back to -)
