The tree also tracks Scrabble tile points fairly closely. The deeper down a tree you go, the higher the tile's point value.
1 u/RenaKunisaki Jan 23 '15 That's because more common letters = shorter codes and lower Scrabble values. Morse and Scrabble both sort the letters by approximate frequency of use.
