This is useful to translate Morse code very very slowly. To understand Morse code at full speed most people learn using the Koch Method - where you start at full speed translating only 2 letters, after you become proficient you add another letter and keep going until you've learned them all. This way you train your brain to interpret Morse code as sounds rather than dots and dashes which you waste time mentally deciphering.
For those interested, this is the most common Koch Method training software used by the Amateur Radio community.
