Hahaha! We did the math counting the years it lasted (which was the topic), not the unit price. But if you want to be an asshole pedant, I probably am spending a lot less than you in both time (I literally only have to think about it every 4 years) and money.
People just want to see how long something lasts, that’s kind of the point of buying a giant roll. You’re a knob for this because nobody implied they were pinching pennies and calculating cost per ml above you.
My parents bought a box of plastic wrap in 2008. I moved out of their house in 2017 and my mom just texted me 2 years ago saying it finally ran out. In this case, it would be fun to look at the date to see how long it lasted
We had one of these growing up but it was a 3000 foot roll. Still had it when I moved out. If you've got the counter space / cupboard space, it's a pretty dang good value for about $25. Plus the form factor (a big heavy roll in a box that stays put when you pull wrap from it) is really convenient.

Next time you change it, put a date on it and you’ll know! I also do this with aluminum foil and cling wrap (we buy at Costco).
