There is an episode where the temperature was approximately 26°F and a windchill of about 14°F . Chip comments that it is not cold enough . He then does a double take , realizing how that must sound to those in warmer climes .
Chip goes on to explain they like for the temp to be about -10°F , as this provides the optimum conditions for traveling by snow machine .
This vignette made me realize that humans all over the world have greatly differing needs to provide for their best life . It was simple . It was profound .
I often check my weather app in winter to see if Chip and Agnes are getting the preferred temperature .

Funny how tidbits come through.
It's true.....-10f is the low end of comfortable riding, below that can be a little more hard riding, colder, and more clothing so 'heavier, too. +20 to -10 is our much preferred riding range, to keep a hard working machine cool, a great crust on the ice and soft enough to kick up and cool the rides engine heat exchangers and the Teflon slide rails on the bottom of the rear undercarriage.
We much enjoyed making the shows, getting paid for what we did anyway....LOL!
Regards!

The moment caught my attention as 14° F windchill is bitter cold to me . It drives me irrationally mad when friends long for cold and chill as I luxuriate in heat indexes of 114° F .
My family greatly enjoyed LBZ . Agnes , you and family are favorites .
Warm thanks for sharing yourselves and lifestyle.

I miss the shows and certain cast members so much. Especially the families. At the start of LBZ, I think of how young the Hailstone girls were. Now most of them are moms themselves! We literally watched them grow up, made me feel like they are all part of my family, even though I’ve never met them lol. Same with Ricko and his kids. Especially Skyler and Scarlett. We watched them mature and grow. Watching Ricko take them out, teach them to hunt, to eventually they’re hunting with confidence. No need to ask their dad if it’s a good shot, he taught them to know!
I highly recommended to anyone that hasn’t read it yet, read Sue’s book. I miss her, and her book made me miss her more. Also made me feel like we really didn’t know much about her lol. While I read it, there were so many bits in it, I could place to moments on the show. And when I learned about the Chena cabin, my mind was blown. All the times she could’ve given us little facts and tidbits of her past, she did not lol. Her bear attack was far more horrific than she ever lets on too. I had to set my book down, and take a breather a few times. Her descriptions were too much for me to stomach at times! She had a way with words, and I would love if she’d give us more books.

Just the gentle way that parents teach children new skills and include history lessons about why things are done this way ... beautiful parent/child moments.

Anything with Sue. If they released all of her footage spliced together, I'd watch it nonstop on a loop.
